Root River Energy, LLC was formed in April 2008 to produce electrical power in an environmentally friendly manner. Located in Fillmore and Mower County, Minnesota, the company will follow a model of community ownership, where local landowners can become project owners. One of our main goals is to provide landowners and other local investors an opportunity to participate in a wind project with potential long-term benefits to the owners and the community.

Our company’s objective is to develop 300 MW or more of wind turbine-based renewable energy. Our development commitment is to produce wind energy projects that are sustainable, generational and environmentally responsible. Our financial commitment is to assure that the financial benefits are shared with our local stockholders, area land owners and the surrounding community.
